Diabetes in menopause

Ayurveda treatment focusses on an entire change in the lifestyle of the person. The treatment for diabetics begins with bio-cleansing procedures or panchakarma which are aimed at fat-reduction (apatarpana chikitsa) to ensure there is no further complication caused. This is followed by treatment of a variety of herbal medicines (aushadhi), diet changes (aahar), and lifestyle changes (vihar).

Additionally, in women with menopause, Ayurveda treatment does not advice any drastic cleansing procedures, as the major goal of treatment is to just reduce discomfort and symptoms. Treatments such as Shirodhara (continuous flow of medicated oil or buttermilk on the head) and gentle a body massage are advised, as they help in relieving muscle spasms, pains, burning, and restlessness.
