Ayurveda recommends skin care according to different prakruti of person. Following are the recommendations according to your prakruti:

Diet Recommendations (Aahar)

Vata Skin care

  • Eat regular warm meals
  • Follow a regular daily routine
  • Include organic milk, whole grains and green leafy vegetables in your diet
  • Drink lots of lukewarm water
  • Include little of healthy fat such as ghee or olive oil in your diet

Pitta Skin care

  • Eat regular meals
  • Avoid hot, spicy food and an excess of deep fried food
  • Eat lots of fruit juices and rose petals in cool milk

Kapha Skin care

  • Eat regular meals which is warm, less oily
  • Eat more bitter, astringent and pungent tastes
  • Avoid too many sweet foods or deep fried foods
  • Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits to cleanse body from inside

Lifestyle changes (Vihar)

Vata Skin care

  • Use essential oils or herbs to nourish the skin and rehydrate it
  • Warm oil self-massage is essential
  • Wash your face with water several times

Pitta Skin care

  • Use coconut oil for the daily massage
  • Cook oil with cooling spices such as fennel and licorice
  • Protect your skin from sun

Kapha Skin care

  • Regularly scrub the skin with gentle exfoliating clay
  • Exercise everyday
  • Daily warm oil massage will help in circulation
